The internationally recognized credential from CompTIA (Computer Technology Imaging Association) recognizes professionals for possessing critical knowledge of all major areas and technologies used to plan, design and specify an imaging system.

Mr Lawrence Chua, Senior Manager of Technology & Solutions Group at Ricoh Singapore commented, “Most customers already know that the cost of maintaining hard copy documents in their office can be inhibitive but are unsure as to how to migrate over to a more paperless system without causing too much disruption to their business operations. The CDIA+ certification provides us with a proven methodology based on best practices that allows us to effectively gather and analyze business requirements, recommend and design a document management system as well as develop an effective implementation plan. We see great value in this certification and have mandated this as a key certification for our business group.”

Ricoh Singapore’s decision to embark on CDIA+ certification is a strategic one. One that is aligned with their desire to deliver greater value to customers through value added professional services and solutions. Says Strategic Marketing Manager, Mr Bruce Murphy, “To enhance the value proposition to our customers, Ricoh Singapore believes in developing in-house capabilities that will help us to better serve our customers and make us the preferred document imaging partner. We needed a consistent and objective way to evaluate our competencies and the rigorous certification process of CDIA+ has provided us with a benchmark that requires our people to demonstrate competence in the area of document management.”

First identified as a key priority in the 2009 Ricoh Singapore training plan, the CompTIA CDIA+ training programme was customized and developed in-house by Bruce to better suit the unique business requirements of Ricoh Singapore. Examples and exercises were tailored with a local perspective and internal projects were assigned to give participants an opportunity to apply what they had learnt. As a pre-requisite for the CDIA+ certification, all participants had to attempt and pass over 50 product and solutions assessments conducted through the Ricoh Asia Pacific’s Learning Management System. This was to enhance their ability to apply the CDIA+ methodology in the Ricoh context.
